On 10-9-15 Mayor Garcettii and the Los Angeles City Council passed Ordinance # 183893. The purpose of this ordinance is to strengthen specific types of buildings to prevent loss of life and property in case of a severe earthquake.
There are approximately 13,500 soft-story apartments and condominiums which need to be retrofitted in Los Angeles.
